Pholile Shakantu has expressed gratitude to the Eswatini delegation she led to the 28th Meeting of the SADC Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation in Malawi.
She said the discussions reaffirmed a shared commitment to peace, stability and the protection of human rights across the region, with a clear focus on coordinated responses to modern security challenges.
Shakantu also thanked the Republic of Malawi, her colleague His Excellency Honourable Dr George Chaponda, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the SADC Secretariat for hosting the meeting. She further appreciated all delegates for what she described as robust and productive engagement.
The delegation comprised Ms Doncaster Dlamini, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs; Mr Vulindlela Kunene, Under Secretary for Political Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms Nomkhosi Fakudze, Commissioner in the Royal Eswatini Police Service; Ms Nomvelo Mkhonta, First Secretary at the High Commission of the Kingdom of Eswatini to the Republic of Mozambique; and Brigadier General Petros Bhembe, Chief of Defence Intelligence in the Ministry of Defence and Security.
Also serving on the delegation were Ms Thobile Mavuso, Director of the SADC Unit in the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development; Ms Zandile Dlamini, International Cooperation Coordinator in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms Bagcinele Maphanga, Assistant Socio Political Analyst in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms Nombuso Dlamini, Defence Attaché at the High Commission of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Pretoria; and Ms Mumcy Dlamini, Deputy National Commissioner of the Royal Eswatini Police Service.
