Engaging the American Jewish Committee

On the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly, I had the opportunity to meet with the American Jewish Committee (AJC), where we discussed ways of strengthening engagement between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the global Jewish community, as well as identifying practical areas for cooperation.

I am grateful to Congressman Ted Deutch, CEO of the American Jewish Committee and Mr. Rober E. Lapin, AJC President for extending an invitation to me to meet with the ACJ to exchange views on areas of mutual interest.

I was welcomed by AJC Chairman Michael Feldstein and Wayne Sussman, Director of the AJC Africa Institute, during the meeting.
Our discussions provided an opportunity to explore how we can build stronger connections between Eswatini and the AJC.

Chairman Feldstein thanked me for meeting with the AJC and spoke about the importance of continued engagement with Eswatini, including opportunities for closer economic cooperation.
I shared Eswatini’s commitment to partnerships that create meaningful connections and practical opportunities for collaboration. We identified agriculture, technology, health and commerce as areas with potential for greater cooperation.
We also discussed the importance of maintaining regular dialogue and building partnerships based on mutual understanding and shared interests.

Eswatini established diplomatic relations with Israel in 1968, and our engagement with the AJC forms part of the Kingdom’s broader interaction with the global Jewish community.
I look forward to continued dialogue and to exploring opportunities that can translate our discussions into practical cooperation that benefits Eswatini and strengthens our international partnerships.
